The $100 Butt-Lift

While I haven’t lost any inches (nada. none. zip.) across my hips, my butt has changed dramatically. It’s higher, perkier, less an ass and more a booty. I just noticed one more thing.

TMI warning.

So far today:

  • OIP/HF/OIP - x2 - I know you only *need* one set of these, but the repetition is really helping me to remember the flow. I’ll probably keep doing 2x until I get the Total System — assuming my coupon ever freakin’ makes it to Florida. Nah, I’m not bitter. Really.
  • PBS - FINALLY, I’m starting to remember all the moves. Well, except all the head stuff, but that’s what notes are for, right?
  • Plie Series - I felt better about the form for this one today. I did, however, keep having to remind myself to KLT and tuck my hips. At *least* I felt that my body remained in a parallel plane to the wall, and that’s something.
  • Reach/Scoops
  • Hoe Downs

After Maya wakes from her nap, I plan to take the dog out for a longish walk (tucking my hips, lifting my ribs, and KLT all through, grin) with Maya in the Ergo on my back. I need some sunshine, even if it means squinting.

In a mere five days, now, I have Lasik to correct my rather poor vision. I’ve been wearing my glasses full-time for the past 1-1/2 weeks, and I am SO tired of them. It sounds like a weak complaint, but seriously, not seeing well or wearing my glasses both put a big damper on my ability to work out well. I can’t wait.

Later…

After Maya’s nap, we walked appx 3 miles, hips tucked, shoulders back, ribcage up, and doing KLT as much as I can figure out to do while in motion. My outer hips ache. 3 miles in normal walking is a very, very simple thing compared to 3 miles in T-Tapp form. Oh.My.God.

This evening, we went down to Albuquerque for a little shopping, specifically on the hunt to find a pair of shoes for the small person in the house. In the Skechers store, I didn’t find anything for Maya (will someone PLEASE let the designers know that girls’ shoes don’t HAVE to be pink?!?), but I noticed that the same Energy 2s that ShoeBuy.com sells for $48 were on sale for $35. Not bad, but that wasn’t enough to sway me into buying shoes just yet (I figured after a solid month of Tapping, I’d have earned them).

Then…I browsed the clearance rack, and what to my eyes should appear, but pair of Energy 2-Reflex in size 8. Navy Blue/Blue, marked down to $29.95…then 50% off that. So yes, folks, I have joined the masses who own Skechers for T-Tapping. But I bought mine for $16, *including* tax. Nyah.

No workout today…at least I’m not planning one. Maya’s gotten the latest round of crud from daycare, and while she woke up bouncy today, I’m still dragging ass. How the *&^% a kid can wake up hyper after having a 103-degree fever in the middle of the night is beyond me… Ah to be two.

I bit the bullet and took measurements for my first weak-attempt at a week of T-Tapp. Considering that I’ve not done very much yet, I’m impressed. Way impressed.

One thing that I find fascinating, looking at these numbers, is the balance that I’m gaining between the size of my left/right sides after only a week. My thighs, lower thighs, and calves are all now even across left/right — something I don’t know if I’ve *ever* seen. Nice.
