Update from Colorado
My 4-day mini-vacation turned into a 6-day REAL one.
Sunday evening, after the hike, I decided I wanted to do PBS and OIP/HF before bed. During the second part of PBS (hands behind back), I actually clasped my hands rather than grabbing a towel. Big. Mistake. Pinched nerve, pulled muscle, and visit to the chiropractor (had to find one!) later, I can *almost* tilt my head to the left now. Almost. So, Monday, I was in no condition to work out, since I was wincing to even just get out of bed. Yesterday, I drove to Colorado — and simply didn’t have/make time.
This morning, I put in TWO thinking, you know…maybe I *will* do that bootcamp I keep feeling like I need. I got through the end of T-Tapp Twist before I realized that working out here (parents’ house, lots of non-toddler-proof stuff) will be difficult, if not impossible. I feel like I’ve lost the momentum I was building before my break, and that’s frustrating. How my body reshapes/rebuilds is usually very, very heavily invested in momentum. It takes a long while of building up before I see much change, but when the changes start, they pile on. Conversely, once I’m fit, it takes a good six to eight weeks of bad habits before I start to see negative reactions. The problem is that middle ground. So far, I’ve still been in the push-start-the-motor phase, to where I have to keep going on faith until my body finally responds. With nearly a week off, I feel like the 2000-pound “car” of me has come to a complete halt again. In a pothole. In the snow.
HEAVE-HO.
Since I’ll be here until Saturday morning, I’m unsure how much workout I’ll actually do, unless it’s at night after Maya’s in bed.
